"Here are some pictures of Washington DC when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. These cherry blossoms were a gift from Japan to America, given many years ago as a symbol of the friendship between Japan and America. Every spring in Washington DC, we hold the "Sakura Matsuri" (Cherry Blossom Festival), a festival to celebrate not only the blooming of the cherry blossoms but the friendship between America and Japan.
At the festival, you can eat Japanese food, buy Japanese books, crafts, and other goods, see performances of Japanese martial arts or dances, or
even sing karaoke! It's a wonderful way of celebrating our two cultures and our friendship. If you would like to learn more, please visit the
